Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday reiterated that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will fulfil all its promises, including a monthly allowance of Rs 2,100 for women, if voted back to power in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections due in February next year.
Atishi conducted a 'padayatra' (foot march) in the Tilak Nagar constituency as part of AAP's city-wide campaign to connect with voters and strengthen support.
Addressing the gathering, Atishi highlighted the AAP government's achievements and urged voters to support the party once again.
"Arvind Kejriwal has always worked for the common man, unlike other parties. We delivered on promises that others claimed were impossiblesuch as ensuring round-the-clock electricity even during peak summers," she said.

AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal has ramped up his outreach, especially to women, ahead of the February 2025 Assembly elections.
During a padayatra in the Badarpur constituency on Monday, Kejriwal cited a survey that he claimed shows 60 per cent of women in Delhi are set to vote for AAP. He urged the remaining 40 per cent to join the fold.
"There must be some shortcoming in my penance that 40 per cent of women are not voting for me. This time, 100 per cent of women must vote for the Aam Aadmi Party," Kejriwal said.
Last week, the former Delhi chief minister announced the launch of the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojna to give monthly assistance of Rs 1,000 to women of the city and promised to raise it to Rs 2,100 after the elections.
As he highlighted his party's work in the field of education, healthcare, and water supply, Kejriwal blamed the BJP for stalled development in areas like Badarpur, where BJP MLA Ramvir Singh Bidhuri won the election in 2020.

After AAP released its final list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls in Delhi, party supremo Arvind Kejriwal, who will contest from the New Delhi constituency, took a swipe at the BJP, alleging that the saffron party has no chief ministerial face.

Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Saturday expressed confidence of former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal returning to power in the national capital after the assembly elections, saying "the people of Delhi have faith in Kejriwal and they do not need anyone else".
Talking to PTI on his return from the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, the former deputy chief minister of Delhi slammed the BJP over Delhi's "deteriorating law and order situation".

"The model code of conduct will come into force from today," he said.
The five municipal corporations going to polls are Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala and Phagwara.
The process of filing nominations will start from December 9 and the last date will be December 12. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on December 13 and the last date for the withdrawal of nominations will be December 14, Chaudhuri said.

The Samajwadi Party is not expected to come to power in Uttar Pradesh till 2047, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said on Sunday, taking a dig at the opposition party chief Akhilesh Yadav over its dismal performance in the assembly bypolls.
The BJP won six of the nine assembly seats while its ally RLD won one, with the opposition Samajwadi Party winning the remaining two.
Referring to the Samajwadi Party's PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) formula, Maurya, in a post on X, said, "The SP's fake PDA (Parivar Development Agency) collapsed in the by-elections. Those who claimed (victory) in nine seats are now unable to tell the count."
He accused the opposition party of "misleading the Backwards and Dalits by allying with the BSP in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and the Congress in 2024.
"But the public rejected the SP outright," the senior BJP leader said. "Forget about 2027, wait till 2047 Akhilesh ji. Even then there is no hope of SP coming to power," he said.

The juggernaut of the BJP-led NDA, which triumphed in three of the four east and north-eastern states that went for assembly bypolls on Saturday, was halted yet again in West Bengal where Mamata Banerjee's TMC registered a six-on-six clean sweep.

The 7-2 result in the bypolls to nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh in favour of the BJP reasserted Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's political authority in the state's politics, especially after the recent reverses in Lok Sabha polls.
At the same time, the Congress not contesting and the BSP's yet another below-par show meant that despite losing ground, the Samajwadi Party continues to dominate the opposition space in the most populous state.
The results were immaterial from the issue of the UP BJP government's stability and yet much pride was at stake, especially for the ruling party as the bypolls were the first electoral test of the BJP-led-NDA and INDIA bloc after the 2024 Lok Sabha polls in which the opposition had limited the BJP to its worst show in UP since 2014.
